Job Summary
To efficiently underwrite the all classes of insurance in accordance with the set guidelines to enhance business retention, growth and profitability
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Servicing
- Debiting premium accurately and ensuring that all premiums are booked in the month they are due and that the documents raised are accurate.
- Uploading all documents into the EDMS
- Handling correspondence in accordance with the mail handling procedure
- Attending to direct clients, agents and brokers that visit the Branch and emails enquiries within the set turnaround times.
- Ensuring that proper underwriting is done through vetting and scrutinizing of proposal forms, Risk notes and other instructions received from brokers, agents and clients in order to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and reinsurance treaty terms.
- Processing credit notes within the month they are due.
- Issuing Motor certificates and Comesa cards and ensuring all are debited and paid for as per the Credit Policy
- Preparation of periodical management and performance reports and any other duties as may be directed by the Management.
- Issuance of all documents in accordance to the set turn around period.
- Identify and suggesting improvements to the core system for improved efficiency.

- Maintain high Customer Service Standards on a day to day basis.
- Providing on the Job training to newly recruited staffs.
- Maintain harmonious working relationship with all staffs.
- Continue to build personal skill by participating in in-house programmes (including e-learning), industry related courses and seminars as deemed necessary to expand product and system knowledge.
ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related discipline from a reputable university.
- At least one (1) year experience in underwriting or Customer Service.
